If you remember my obsession with these shoes, you should know that I did hold out for over a year on wearing them, just so they would be in pristine shape for our wedding day.
I was so, so, so excited to wear my orange shoes under my dress. I had once contemplated having the crinoline under my dress dyed orange, but it was sewn in, and I wasn't adding any extra, so having the pop of color hidden under my dress was perfect. Plus, it was a nice surprise to most of our wedding guests who weren't familiar with the new trend. And I was so happy to have chosen such comfortable shoes, because my feet were happy all day, even after hours of being on my feet!
You have already seen the hair flower in my hair, but here is a picture of it before it was placed. My mom and I spent a lot of time making these flowers, and I was so proud of the work that we were able to do.
The last thing that had to be done for my dress was the belt. We had most of the belt made, but the last thing to do was to size it around my waist. Because we waited so long to actually start the belt, we were unable to try it on with the dress at my last fitting. So, my mom brought along a needle and thread, and once I actually had the dress on, she measured around my waist, and then started sewing on the clasp for the belt, making sure that it fit perfectly.
Once she had it sewn on, she clasped it around my waist, and there was only one thing left to do before I was fully dressed as a bride.
Adding the final touch to my makeup with a layer of light pink lipstick, and I was finally ready.
Did you end up finishing up some details of your wedding attire when getting ready like I did? Did it cause you any extra stress?
