The Rhode to The Rest of Our Lives: Deets

D and I really couldn't be happier about the way our wedding details turned out.  From all the planning over 14 months to the wedding day, I didn't imagine that everything would look so good together.

Our venue, the Roger Williams Botanical Center, had so many different plant species that we wanted to showcase, so we kept our decorations to a minimum.  And the way the venue was lit up at night was incredibly beautiful.  We really couldn't have picked a more unique place to get married.

In terms of the other details of our wedding, not everything was captured on camera, which disappoints me, but I have pictures of mostly everything else from my DIY tutorials and blog posts.

When you first walked in the ceremony space, you were greeted by a table that had our guestbook on it and our card box.  The guestbook was a huge hit, and we had extra envelopes and cards, so some of our guests left more than one note. It was so fun to be able to come back from our mini-moon and read all the little notes.

Once the ceremony was over, the guestbook and card box were moved to a different table next to the entrance to the reception space, which is where our bamboo escort cards were placed, in alphabetical order.

In the reception space, we ended up with nine tables, and a sweetheart table.  We decided on white linens and orange napkins, and then the centerpieces were the midollino sticks with the table numbers, and the Jell-O flower vases.

Since we had only 10 tables, including ours, we were able to use special dates from our relationship as table numbers. You may think that sounds complex, but we were able to find one for each month, January-October, so our tables were actually numbered 1-10!

I loved the way that the reception decor came out.  I think it was simple enough that it didn't take away from the atmosphere, and that it was also just enough to make a statement.  Our guests also couldn't believe that the Jell-O was edible, and we had more than a few guests try to eat some of it!

How do you think everything came out? Was this such a special time for you, seeing all your hard work put together?
